Math in daily games with a child

At an early age, children have specific thinking, which does not perceive a figure as a designation of quantity. He sees the number – and accepts it as a squiggle, which parents, for example, call “seven.” Therefore, if you are faced with the task of teaching the baby to count, then the score must be associated with specific objects (cars, balls).

Symbolic figures should appear in the life of the child later. It is important to inform the child that the quantity is in no way connected with the color of the object, its size and shape. For example, you can take cookies from a vase, laying out on the table to say “one”, “two” and so on. After a while, do the same with sweets, toys and other items. So, an understanding will come to the child that the named figure is the amount of the indicated item.

SCORE
Everything that surrounds the child can be considered. You can start with their pens, ears, fingers, legs. Then the baby with the mother can take steps, cars, dishes, and more. During training for a walk, you can invite the child to take as many socks as his legs need. It is important to pay attention not only to recounting, but also to the number of items. For example, you can ask the child to calculate how many guests will be for dinner, and say how many plates are needed for them. You can also, from time to time, ask the child what is more on the plate – pears or bananas?

Do not force the development of the child in the bill. First, he should be guided in the amount of five objects, then distinguish four from two (for example, cookies) by eye, and then ten objects. Having mastered the first ten numbers, the child will easily begin to navigate in the account.

GEOMETRY IN TOYS
The study of this science takes place in the daily games of the baby, of which there are a huge number. For example, you can make an improvised house made of cardboard (a flat sheet), paste windows from white paper there, depict geometric shapes there, and make doors on top of them that will hide them. The kid will definitely want to see what’s inside. And after a while, he will already know exactly what figure lives in each of the windows.

Another game is to attach a figure inside the match box and stick the same on top. Then you can play the situation when, for example, the cubs fell apart and mixed up matchboxes. The kid should find all the boxes matching each other. The game not only teaches figures and their names, but also the ability to search for identical objects, and also positively affects fine motor skills. You can complicate the game, and make figures of different colors. To develop an understanding of the child’s counts and numbers, draw dots on the surface of the box, and inside, a figure corresponding to their number.

As you already understood, classes aimed at developing a child, and his teaching the basics of mathematics, can easily be turned into everyday exciting games from which the kid will enjoy sincerely. You can play on walks and reading fairy tales, where in the course of the plot you pay attention to the child, for example, on the characteristics of the characters (for example, how a cow differs from a dog or a wolf from a fox) and their number. Games for the development of logic can be carried out in the process of dressing for a walk, and while eating, study household items.
